Hung, Quartered and Drawn Competition. HRP Tower of London
Sometimes, you enter something just for the chance to have a go and find extraordinarily, against all your own expectations, that you win.
In October 2007, The Historic Royal Palaces invited the public to create a drawing to interpret the stories of the White Tower. The winning entry was to be realised on scaffolding sheeting on its 27-metre-high and 33-metre-wide east face (and west face) during cleaning and restoration work taking place in 2008/10.
On the 6 February 2008, I discovered I was shortlisted and on the 22 February, Chris Martin rang me to tell me I’d won. These pictures are a celebration of the Day of the Unveiling 10 April 2008.
